quick flash of brown
skims above the ground
small feathered blur
tumbles like a leaf
on bumpercar wings
beak open, scooping warm air
flares right there
three-pointed toes grasp the ground
black sparklingbead eye
finds it --
quick peck for the seed
clampswallowshake
beak snatched it
push off
wings grab air
now
the ground's
empty.
