rock ponderings | |
the rocks will just sit there
and wondering why, | |
or pondering gravely | |
on gravity's theory | |
while eons will pass | |
won't do any good: | |
as the rocks, still | |
will just sit there | |
you could conclude | |
that the act of just sitting
is the nature of rocks | |
more so than it is | |
the nature of ants | |
meandering past them | |
(they don't have much time)
or the nature of lizards,
(having displayed | |
rock-like behavior | |
soaking in sun) | |
will still scamper off in the evening
leaving behind | |
as they have been used to
for eons of time | |
still sitting in silence,
the rocks... | |
