currents
the currents flow
different directions,
layers embracing,
sliding, gliding
above one another,
beneath, streams deflecting
bloodwarm,
bonechilling,
melting
into each other's embrace,
rebounding, the layers
separating,
again merging.
the different depths
have their colors
the shining top turquoise
sinking beneath the sun,
leaving bright green for
deepening blue hues,
a descent, twilight gray
into black:
in the dark let your skin
feel the silt's scouring
before the approaching wall
of the cold bottom current...
