[contemplation – wings II]
You can't
said my sister
bound buildings
like Superman –
Heaven is reached
a step at a time,
fear of heights
a forgivable frailty.
I ignore her,
the Lord, mother told me,
knows the fall of
each sparrow, the
wind folds our prayers in silence
my wish to embrace the sky
as my feeble gift
interrupted by crows' flight,
wings grasping
the elusive in their
cries' wake.
